Summer 2008 Course: PS3-01 Introduction to Empirical Analysis and Quantitative Methods

Professor Gailmard's research focuses primarily on American political institutions, particularly the bureaucracy, Congress, and their interaction, and he specializes in game-theoretic and statistical modeling in these areas. In addition, he conducts laboratory-based experimental research on individual choice in collective decision making. He has published articles in several leading journals, including the American Journal of Political Science, Journal of Politics, and Quarterly Journal of Political Science. Professor Gailmard joined the department in 2007 after serving on the faculties of Northwestern University and the University of Chicago. He earned a B.S. in public policy studies in 1996 and M.P.A. in 1997 from Indiana University-Bloomington, and his Ph.D. in 2002 from California Institute of Technology.
